CUMBRIAN printmakers will be showcasing their latest designs at The Beacon Museum, Whitehaven.
Artists from all over Cumbria will join together to celebrate the diversity of printmaking in modern Britain.
The Cumbrian Printmakers Exhibition explores a variety of printmaking methods and techniques, providing an opportunity to understand more about the craft.
The exhibition starts on October 9 and will feature various types of printmaking including etching, cyanotype, mono printing, linocutting, drypoint, screen printing and blind embossing.
The exhibition will take place in the museum’s harbour gallery and visitors will have a chance to purchase the artwork on display.
Heather Holmes, Customer and Visitor Experience Manager at the museum, said: “We have relished the opportunity to help create this exhibition of work showcasing the skill and breadth of artists from the Cumbrian Printmakers group.
“The artists are committed to printmaking, whether it’s from the cowshed on a farm, table at the back of the stables, the back bedroom, or from dedicated studio space – each finding their own way to express their creativity.
“Most of the work on exhibition is for sale, so come and enjoy the pieces and take something unique home with you.”
The exhibition will run from October 9 until January 2, 2022.
The museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4.30pm and from 11am to 4pm on Sundays. It also opens on Mondays during school holidays.
Cost of entry is £7 adult, £5.50 concessions, £3.50 for under 16s and £17.50 for a family pass (two adults and two children). Annual pass holders can visit free of charge upon production of their valid annual pass.
Visitors will also have the chance to access the exhibition for free on October 22, November 26 and December 31 as part of the museum’s ‘Free Friday’ events funded by Cumbria County Council.
