THE BEACON Museum in Whitehaven is looking for volunteers to get involved in a range of exciting projects.

Those who offer to lend a hand could be helping look after artefacts, repairing costumes, assisting at events or guiding visitors round the galleries.

Copeland’s Portfolio Holder for The Beacon Museum, Coun Steven Morgan, said: “We are always looking for ways to engage with our residents and invite them to be a part of the museum.

“People can support us, and at the same time meet new people, gain skills or have something interesting to add to their CV.

“They can get involved in one-off projects, or come along regularly. Anyone interested should give us a call to discuss the options – we’d be delighted to hear from them. Everyone has something unique to offer and volunteering at the Beacon is a fantastic way to make a difference to the community in an interesting and friendly environment.”

Anyone interested in taking up this opportunity should contact the Beacon Museum’s Volunteer Co-ordinator, Andy McCourt, for an informal chat on 07741284815 or at Andrew.McCourt@copeland.gov.uk.
