STAFF and volunteers at the Beacon Museum are ready to give a warm welcome to visitors this summer.

Ten colleagues recently completed the ‘Welcome to Excellence – Exceeding Visitor Expectations’ training course, accredited by Visit England.

The course aims to help staff excel in assisting visitors to the award-winning harbourside attraction.

Participants discussed engaging guests post-pandemic, enhancing visitors’ experiences and best practice regarding the delivery of exhibitions, events and activities.

Customer and Visitor Experience Manager, Heather Holmes, said: “The course was really useful, and a chance for experienced staff, new starters and volunteers to share their ideas and skills.

“Exceeding Visitor Expectations is a highly practical customer service training course aimed at front-line staff working in a visitor attraction. Here at The Beacon Museum we’re dedicated to excellent customer service and creating great experiences – so I’m delighted that our staff completed the course with flying colours.”
