In 2020, visitors can rediscover the Beacon Museum through an exciting programme of digital upgrades happening throughout the year
We have called the programme the Beacon Museum Sparks project, as it will allow new ways for locals and visitors from further afield to spark passion and imagination for our local history. We will not be replacing artefacts with digital, rather that the digital interactives will add new interpreations to those objects. New objects will also be going on display as part of the project.
From Virtual Reality experiences to digital walking trails and interactive touchscreens, the museum will tell news stories and explore new ways of showcasing the heritage of Copeland.
Two development phases will take place during spring and autumn 2020.

We will update you with a full timetable of launches and digital events before the end of 2019
