Discover the armour that Roman soldiers wore and try on child- sized replicas and become a Roman soldier. You can touch replica equipment that the soldiers had to carry and hear about their daily routines whilst on the march.

Touch a sword, shield and spear.
Discuss life as a soldier and what it meant to be away from home living.

  • Replica objects include helmet, shield, gladius sword, pilum/javelin, pugio dagger and belt, hobnailed boots, Lorica, Ancient British spear, sword and shield.
  • Pre and post session activity suggestions supplied with every booking.
  • Roman artefact loan box available to be booked separately.
