Invasion! – John Paul Jones Guided Walking Tour of Whitehaven

Starting in the museum, your guide will tell how a gardener’s son from Scotland became an American hero, as we learn how his career developed from Cabin boy to Captain.

We will then explore the harbourside where the invasion took place, and uncover how John Paul Jones became known as the Father of the American Navy.

The ticket price includes the guided walk as well as entry to the museum for 4 July 2024. It is not possible to book the walk without museum admission as part of the talk will take place in the museum. Annual Pass holders will still need to book a place on the walk and show a valid pass on entry to the museum.

The walk is limited to just 12 places, so booking is essential.

Unfortunately due to building works on the harbourside, part of the outside tour is currently only accessible via the steps at Wellington Terrace, and other sections may have uneven surfaces.
