Calling all Copeland residents, you can now experience Whitehaven’s fantastic Museum for FREE!

 Simply provide proof of your address (i.e. Utility Bill or ID) with no booking required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Entry includes access to the current Harbour Gallery, Photographic Exhibition, Rediscover Copeland – a trip around Copeland in the 1950’s and 60’s through the work of local photographer, Ivor Nicholas. Also the Touring Exhibition, Medieval Medicine, brought to you by Jorvik Group.

The Beacon Museum is open to Copeland residents for free on the following dates:

Thursday 22nd July 2021 and every Thursday thereafter until Thursday 26th August 2021.

The Beacon Museum is still working to keep staff, visitors, and the community safe.

Although booking is not required, staff might need to manage the number of visitors in the Museum.

All our staff continue to wear face coverings and the Museum recommends and expects that visitors do the same, unless they are medically exempt.

Our free family Thursday’s are proving to be extremely popular! If you prefer a leisurely experience we suggest a visit on an alternative day.

Although Covid-19 related restrictions are being lifted from the 19th July, we would like to continue to keep staff, visitors and the community safe.

Our venue will continue to remain Covid secure with regular cleaning, hand sanitiser and advisory one-way systems in place.
