TIDES OF INNOVATION

HOW WEST CUMBERLAND SHAPED THE WORLD.

The West Cumberland coast has been an inspirational influence on the world for over five thousand years. From the use of Langdale Axes influencing the Agricultural Revolution in the Neolithic Period, our coal used to power the world to today. Our people and our community have influenced and changed the world

This exhibition will look at achievements of the past and present through objects, processes and people.

Looking forward we can see the creativity of our young people and the redevelopment of our land through rewilding and creation of community focussed areas

How our ancestors, relatives and ourselves have reached out and influenced the world
